Healthcare WINs Strategic Planning Forum
Wednesday, March 24, 2010
(TIME TBD)
(locationTBD)
Long Beach, CA
The Healthcare Workforce Intelligence Network (Healthcare WINs), a collaboration of four Workforce Investment Boards in southern Los Angeles and Orange Counties, invite you to attend the Healthcare WINs Strategic Planning Forum to be held on Wednesday, March 24, at the (location) in Long Beach.
This Forum is a community planning event to engage regional stakeholders in an innovative strategic planning process, using data-driven decision making and broad consensus to improve the recruitment, training and retention of a diverse allied healthcare workforce.
Why me?
You were invited specifically because of your knowledge and expertise as a provider or employer, educator, patient or other key community member. The four key partners in Healthcare WINs have worked on these issues independently, and agreed that a regional approach is needed given the many healthcare employers, educational institutions and employment training facilities that draw patients and employees from all across the region.
Why attend?
Your voice is needed as we craft a comprehensive regional approach to the sector’s increasingly critical workforce shortages. By engaging the broadest possible stakeholder input, Healthcare WINs can identify the most effective strategies to improve career pipelines across the allied healthcare field, particularly for diverse populations. It is important that our entire region understand the impact of these issues on the patient population, as well as on employers, ethnic communities and individuals from varied cultural backgrounds.
What will happen?
During the Stakeholders Forum you will be engaged and equipped to make data-based recommendations for prioritizing the most compelling and urgent workforce problems facing the allied healthcare sector. This will begin with the opening comments, continue through a series of issue-driven breakouts, and conclude with an enlightening community consensus process.
What’s in it for me?
By the time you leave, you will:
1) Understand the major issues and their impact on patients and providers
2) Know the business argument for building cultural agility as a core competence
3) Learn the stakeholder community’s consensus on priority issues
4) Recommend your own ideas for next steps and strategies
5) Engage with your peers to bring more resources to the region to help employers, jobseekers, educators and patients.
We plan on moving fast: The first draft of our comprehensive strategic plan will be drafted immediately after the Forum, with action plans outlined by June 2010. Throughout the process, Healthcare WINs will publish results and invite your comments. So, let’s get started…
